<strong>Position:</strong> Environmental Manager – EPC Design Phase Hydro Project<br><br><strong>Location:</strong> Highland, Scotland (UK)<br><br><strong>Starting Date:</strong> 09/2025<br><br><strong>Duration:</strong> Design phase (approx. 9 months, possibility to extend to the Procurement&Construction Phase)<br><br><strong>Travel Requirements:</strong> Frequent travel to client site in Scotland – remote-working candidates must be UK-eligible<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Lead environmental compliance and sustainability efforts during the design phase of the EPC project, ensuring integration of environmental best practices into design deliverables.</li><li>Ensure compliance with UK and Scottish environmental regulations, including planning conditions, SEPA guidance, and EIA requirements.</li><li>Support the environmental permitting process (e.g. CAR licenses, protected species licenses, water abstraction/discharge consents).</li><li>Coordinate environmental assessments, impact mitigation planning, and stakeholder consultations related to the hydro scheme.</li><li>Provide environmental input into design reviews, site selection, construction method planning, and risk assessments.</li><li>Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and environmental consultants to align on design-related environmental expectations.</li><li>Monitor progress against environmental commitments made in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and related planning approvals.</li><li>Prepare and maintain environmental documentation, registers, and reports in line with ISO 14001 and client requirements.</li><li>Participate in client and stakeholder meetings on-site in Scotland and represent the project’s environmental strategy.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental management on large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects.</li><li>Proven track record in environmental compliance for major UK/EU design and construction projects, preferably hydro or dam-related.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Scottish environmental legislation, permitting procedures, and ecological constraints.</li><li>Experience with EIA coordination, protected species assessments, and mitigation strategies for sensitive habitats.</li><li>Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and stakeholder engagement processes.</li><li>Fluent in English with strong communication skills; able to present to clients, regulators, and community stakeholders.</li><li>Availability for regular travel to the Highlands region of Scotland and presence at client meetings; UK work eligibility is required.</li></ul>
