<p><b>Location:</b> Spennymoor, Crook/Willington, Volunteering from Home, Durham City</p><p>Blind Life in Durham could not operate without our volunteers. Our volunteers allow us to provide social and sporting events to people with sight loss and severe sight loss.<br/><br/>The charity has been running since 2004 and has around 20 volunteers whose input is vital. You would be joining the team as a volunteer who provides a vital service to our members at a variety of events throughout each month.<br/><br/>You will also be welcome to participate in any of the events, if you choose, and opportunities for presenting new ideas which will benefit members and volunteers alike.<br/><br/>The purpose of this role is to promote Blind Life in Durham via our social media pages and website.</p><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p><ol><li>Keep our social media pages up to date with information on what we are doing or have done and any other relevant information.</li><li>Respond to any messages on social media in a timely manner and pass them on to the charity’s administrator.</li><li>Keep the charity’s website up to date.</li><li>Promote the charity in a positive manner.</li><li>Work with the charity’s administrator to look at expanding our social media and website presence.</li></ol><p><b>Skills & Qualities:</b></p><ol><li>An enjoyment of using all forms of social media.</li><li>A positive approach to using social media and websites.</li><li>A positive attitude, team player, and willingness to assist people.</li><li>A good standard of communication.</li><li>A good timekeeper and ability to understand and follow instructions.</li><li>Flexibility in your approach.</li></ol><p><b>When & Where:</b> Ad hoc/variable.</p><p><b>Training and Support Offered:</b></p><ol><li>Blind Life Induction</li><li>Blind Life Volunteer Handbook with all the volunteer policies</li><li>Blind Awareness Training</li><li>First Aid</li><li>Basic Health & Safety</li><li>Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults</li></ol><p><b>Recognition of Quality Volunteer Experience</b></p> #J-18808-Ljbffr
